I took some great pictures in Italy. But, as I get older, I sometimes get the feeling I tend to like kitsch, and have no way of seeing the difference between kitsch and beauty anymore. So see for yourself. I uploaded some on flickr, and this is my favourite, though also the one where I think kitschkitschkitschkitsch…
As you can see, I’m still fighting with the D90′s metering system, and admittedly I’m too lazy to spend more than 5 minutes per picture on the computer (bad combination, I guess, especially because I’m even lazier to install some real photo processing software).
(Never mind the double bug, there’s an ongoing fight between me and wordpress.)
On another note, I will be in Leipzig for some time in October and November, so if you are interested in meeting up there, let me know (I’ll be there Monday to Friday, weekends it’ll be catsitting in Prague).

very nice pictures, as usual. i love the grashopper, nice play with the schärfentiefe (I don’t know any camera-related words in english, sorry).
some of the colors of the landscape pictures are not so nice, especially when you took the picture out of the shadow into the light (e.g. the blue of the sky gets grayish). But its not nearly as bad as in my transalp pictures, where really bad (but interesting) things happened with the light.
And concerning the kitsch: I hate to say it, but i think most cat pictures are kitsch. Not that i don’t like cats, but…
Seems to have been a really nice trip, I like the alps very much and have to go there sometime (maybe my next transalp…).

D 90!!!! D’OUGH!!!

Get photoshop as soon as you can!!!! You can’t even imagine how many amazing things can be done, shooting in RAW mode and processing the pics. That way you’ll get the full potential of the camera. I’m getting addicted… I can spend more than 1 hour per picture, and use as many as 6 or 7 diferent layers… but, I hopefully guess, you should admit it’s worth, if you’ve seen my album from Marocco (plz, say I’m right!!!!!! I beg you!!!)
And yeah, cats and bugs are kitsch (as you can check in my bugs&flowers picasa’s folder)
Don’t tell me you’re a Canon man :) Nikon is way better (and I happen to know the guy who translates for Nikon into Spanish, not to mention the girl who’s translating their stuff into German :))
And I have to admit you can do nice things with Photoshop, but I’m just too lazy to spend so much time with it – my pictures have to be perfect from the beginning :)
… as mine are, but I turn them ultra-perfect. :D
I’m just a Nikon-wannabe with my D and F-80… Couldn’t reach 90 (actually, there was not D-90 when I bought my camera)
Ah well, I’ve been waiting so long to buy this D90, and I knew that the moment I bought it they would announce a new, better model. And of course, the D7000 looks nice…
